BEEF & RICE SKILLET SUKIYAKI

INGREDIENTS:QUANTITY:
Uncle Ben's® Converted® Brand Rice 250 ml (1 cup)
oil 10 ml (2 tsp)
Spanish onion, sliced 175 ml (3/4 cup)
garlic, minced 5 ml (1 tsp)
beef stir-fry strips 500 g (1 lb)
soy sauce, low sodium 50 ml (1/4 cup)
Oriental vegetable mixture, thawed and drained 375 ml (1-1/2 cups)


INSTRUCTIONS: Prep: 5min. | Start to Finish: 30min.
  1. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear and brown beef strips by spread them in the pan and allowing them to brown for 2-3 minutes before turning and browning the other side.
  2. Push beef strips to the outside edges of the pan and place sliced onions and garlic in the centre. Stir-fry onions for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add rice, soy sauce and 500 ml (2 cups) water. Bring to a boil, stir, cover and reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove lid, stir gently and spread thawed vegetable mixture over the top surface. Replace lid and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside for 3 minutes before serving.
